Creating & Verifying Your Account

How to Create a Konnect Account

  1. Step 1: Visit Konnect Website Go to konnect.li and click the "Sign Up" button in the top right corner
  2. Step 2: Choose Sign-Up Method Select from Email or Google registration
  3. Step 3: Enter Your Information Provide your email address, create a strong password (minimum 8 characters with letters, numbers, and symbols)
  4. Step 4: Verify Your Email Check your inbox for a verification email and click the confirmation link within 24 hours
  5. Step 5: Complete Your Profile Add your username, profile picture, and bio to get started

💡 Username Guidelines

  • Must be 3-30 characters long
  • Can contain letters, numbers, underscores, and periods
  • Cannot contain spaces or special characters (@, #, !, etc.)
  • Must be unique (not already taken by another user)
  • Can be changed once every 30 days

Account Verification & Badges

Get your account verified to increase trust and visibility:

Eligibility Requirements

  • Authentic: Your account must represent a real person, business, or entity
  • Unique: Only one account per person or business can be verified
  • Complete: Profile must have a profile photo, bio, and at least 3 published videos
  • Active: Account must have been active for at least 60 days
  • Followers: Minimum 10,000 followers (or notable public figure)
  • Compliance: Must follow Community Guidelines and Terms of Service

How to Apply for Verification

  1. Navigate to Settings Go to Settings → Account → Request Verification
  2. Submit Required Documents Provide government-issued ID, business documents, or proof of notability
  3. Wait for Review Verification requests are typically reviewed within 7-14 business days
  4. Check Status You'll receive an email notification about your verification status

If denied, you can reapply after 30 days. Common reasons for denial include incomplete profile, insufficient following, impersonation concerns, or guideline violations.

Editing Your Profile

Personalize your Konnect presence with these customization options:

Profile Photo

  • Format: JPG, PNG, or GIF
  • Size: Maximum 5MB
  • Dimensions: Minimum 200x200 pixels (recommended 800x800)
  • Aspect Ratio: Will be cropped to square (1:1)
  • Guidelines: Must show your face clearly, no inappropriate content

Banner/Cover Image

  • Format: JPG or PNG
  • Size: Maximum 10MB
  • Dimensions: Recommended 2560x1440 pixels
  • Aspect Ratio: 16:9 for best display across devices

Bio/Description

  • Character Limit: 160 characters
  • Allowed Content: Text, emojis, hashtags
  • Links: Add up to 3 external links (website, social media, etc.)
  • Best Practices: Clearly describe who you are and what content you create

Display Name

  • Length: 1-50 characters
  • Changes: Can be changed anytime (unlike username)
  • Allowed Characters: Any characters including emojis and special symbols

  1. Create Playlist Go to Library → Playlists → Create New Playlist
  2. Add Videos Click "Add to Playlist" on any video and select your playlist
  3. Organize Order Drag and drop videos to reorder within playlists
  4. Privacy Settings Choose Public, Unlisted, or Private visibility

Featured Sections

  • Featured Video: Pin your best video at the top of your profile
  • Popular Uploads: Automatically display your most-viewed videos

Password Management

Changing Your Password

  1. Access Security Settings Go to Settings → Security → Change Password
  2. Enter Current Password Verify your identity with your existing password
  3. Create New Password Enter a strong password meeting all requirements
  4. Confirm Changes You'll be logged out and need to sign in again with the new password

Resetting Forgotten Password

  1. Click "Forgot Password" On the login page, click the forgot password link
  2. Enter Email Address Provide the email associated with your account
  3. Check Your Email Look for password reset email (check spam folder if needed)
  4. Create New Password Click the reset link and create a new strong password

🔐 Strong Password Requirements

  • Minimum 8 characters (12+ recommended)
  • At least one uppercase letter
  • At least one lowercase letter
  • At least one number

Two-Factor Authentication (2FA)

Active Sessions Management

Monitor and control where you're logged in:

Viewing Active Sessions

  1. Access Session Manager Settings → Security → Active Sessions
  2. Review Devices See all devices currently logged into your account with location, browser, and last active time
  3. Sign Out Remotely Click "Sign Out" next to any suspicious or unused device
  4. Sign Out All Devices Use "Sign Out Everywhere" to log out from all devices except your current one

  2. Choose Who Can Tag You Everyone, People You Follow, or No One
  3. Review Tags Approve or remove tags manually before they appear

Blocking & Restricted Accounts

Blocking Users

  1. Go to User Profile Navigate to the profile of the user you want to block
  2. Click Block Tap the three dots (•••) → Block User
  3. Confirm Block Blocked user won't be notified

What Happens When You Block Someone

  • They can't view your profile, videos, or stories
  • They can't send you messages or comments
  • They won't see your content in their feed
  • Previous comments remain but they can't add new ones
  • They can't mention or tag you

Managing Blocked Accounts

Settings → Privacy → Blocked Accounts → View list and unblock if needed

Restricted Accounts (Softer Alternative)

  • What it does: Limits interaction without full block
  • Comments: Only they can see their comments on your videos
  • Messages: Go to Message Requests instead of inbox

  1. View Connected Apps Settings → Security → Connected Apps
  2. Review Permissions See what data each app can access
  3. Revoke Access Remove apps you no longer use or trust

⚠️ Third-Party App Security

Only connect apps from trusted developers. Regularly review and remove unused connected apps to protect your account security.

Data & Storage Management

Viewing Your Data Usage

  • Storage Used: Total space used by uploaded videos
  • Bandwidth: Data transferred for video streaming
  • Cache: Temporary files stored on your device

Clearing Cache

  1. Mobile App Settings → Data & Storage → Clear Cache
  2. Web Browser Browser settings → Clear browsing data → Cached images and files

Downloading Your Data

Request a copy of your Konnect data:

  1. Request Data Export Settings → Privacy → Download Your Data
  2. Select Data Types Choose videos, comments, messages, account info, etc.
  3. Receive Download Link You'll get an email with download link within 48 hours
  4. Download Archive Download is available for 7 days

Account Recovery & Deletion

Recovering a Hacked Account

Signs Your Account May Be Compromised

  • Unfamiliar videos posted from your account
  • Changed profile information you didn't update
  • Messages sent that you didn't write
  • Unfamiliar login notifications
  • Password no longer works

Immediate Actions

  1. Reset Password Immediately Use "Forgot Password" to regain access
  2. Sign Out All Devices Settings → Security → Sign Out Everywhere
  3. Enable 2FA Set up two-factor authentication for extra security
  4. Review Recent Activity Check for unauthorized videos, comments, or messages
  5. Contact Support Report the incident to support@konnect.li

🛡️ Preventing Future Hacks

  • Never share your password with anyone
  • Don't click suspicious links in messages
  • Use unique passwords for each platform

Temporarily Deactivating Your Account

What Happens When You Deactivate

  • Profile is hidden from public view
  • Videos are not visible or searchable
  • You can reactivate anytime by logging back in
  • All content and data are preserved

How to Deactivate

  1. Navigate to Settings Settings → Account → Deactivate Account
  2. Select Reason Choose reason for deactivation (optional feedback)
  3. Confirm Deactivation Enter password to confirm

Permanently Deleting Your Account

⚠️ Important: Account Deletion is Permanent

Once deleted, your account cannot be recovered. All videos, comments, likes, and data will be permanently removed.

What Gets Deleted

  • ✗ Profile and username (becomes available for others)
  • ✗ All uploaded videos and content
  • ✗ Comments and interactions
  • ✗ Followers and following lists
  • ✗ Playlists and saved content
  • ✗ Messages and chat history
  • ✗ Analytics and insights data

Deletion Process

  1. Download Your Data (Optional) Request data export before deletion to save your content
  2. Navigate to Account Deletion Settings → Account → Delete Account
  3. Read Warnings Review what will be deleted
  4. Select Reason Provide feedback (optional)
  5. Enter Password Confirm your identity
  6. 30-Day Grace Period Account is scheduled for deletion; you have 30 days to cancel by logging in

Before deleting, consider:

  • Deactivation: Temporarily hide your account
